Salem Friends of Felines provides vouchers which can be used at cooperating veterinary clinics to reduce the cost of spaying and neutering cats in our community. Generally, SFOF has 50 coupons available for the month, and these become available on the first day of the month. It is not unusual for customers to line up before the thrift store opens that day to ensure that they can obtain up to four vouchers. Coupons are purchased for $5.00 at the thrift store located at 980 Commercial St. SE. Pet owners choose which veterinary office to use, make their own appointments, and provide a co-pay to the clinic for either $20.00 per neuter or $25.00 per spay. Vouchers can only be used at vet. clinics on the SFOF approved list.
